Anne Finds a Home in Paris

Anne Finds a Home in Paris

Written by Anne, age 19

My time as an Au Pair was one of the greatest times of my life. I moved away from home for the first time to Paris during my year off between secondary school and university and it was the greatest decision of my life. While at first it was difficult to adjust, I quickly found that Paris became my home. I consider it to be the place where I became my own person, away from home, living in a beautiful new city. Discovering a new city at a young age is one of the most invaluable experiences, and allows for so much personal growth. Strolling along the Seine, reading a book next to the Fountains in Luxembourg Gardens, meeting friends for a mid-afternoon café, experiences I wouldn’t give up for the world. Paris captured a piece of my heart, and I will always look back on my time with such fond memories. A part of me will always call Paris home.

I was blessed with an incredible host family and the cutest children. I met so many amazing people through French classes and attending Hillsong Church Paris. Many of my friends included other au pairs whom I would now consider life long friends. Being a small agency run by two great people, whenever I needed Susan or Sylvie they were quick to respond with support, or even catch up for a coffee if I needed. Many thanks to Au Pair Paris for this incredible experience.
